Influencer Connections Matter
This morning I woke up and felt compelled to view my Twitter analytics. For those that do not know, you can view the analytics and stats of your Twitter account by going to analytics.twitter.com. Checking Twitter analytics is something that I don't do as often as I should, but this morning it really gave me some insight into how valuable networking and building relationships with industry influencers can be.
One of my mentors, Phil Pallen is a great industry influencer and is also a great inspiration and motivation for me personally and for my business. I was one of the first members of the Phil Pallen Academy (PPA) and from the moment I heard him speak (thanks to Full Sail), there was an immediate connection. Now, why am I telling you all of this? Well, give me another sentence or two and I promise it will connect.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I often post inspirational quotes or phrases. About a week ago I posted a quote that says "Never Negotiate Your Worth" and tagged Phil in the post. I pushed that post from Instagram to Twitter, which automatically pushes to my Facebook page. I had no idea the type of impressions this post was receiving on Twitter until I checked my analytics.
Now, having connections with industry influencers like my mentor Phil Pallen and being involved in a network like PPA, affords me the opportunity of having my post, news, updates, etc. seen and shared by many people. If we can't step out of our comfort zone and interact with people inside and outside of our industry, we have already failed to build our brand and our presence within our perspective fields.
I had no idea, but thanks to Phil retweeting and liking my post, I gained almost one-thousand impressions, making that my Top Tweet. Now remeber, this is a post that was automatically shared to Twitter from Instagram. That number may not seem like a lot, but for me, someone who has a small but growing Twitter following, it's a valuable amount.
All-in-all, never take networking and building relationships with industry influencers for granted. You never know who will see your Tweet, Instagram or Facebook post and you never know who will give you that one retweet, like or share that makes the difference.
Special thanks to Phil Pallen and PPA for the continued support, inspiration and feedback. You can check out his information in the links below!
